Digital Privacy Notice

At The King’s Trust International our mission is to help young people like you to thrive on your journey from education to employment. We want to be transparent about what personal details we collect from you when you use our Digital programme(s), including Vibe Check, Get Ready and any other WhatsApp based programmes (together and individually referenced as Digital programme), and why we need them.

If you decide you no longer want to use our Digital programme, please type OPTOUT.  If you want any information, we have collected on you deleted from our systems please email us using the contact details below.

By messaging us on a Digital programme, you consent to the collection and use of your information in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679.  You can find the full The King’s Trust International privacy notice here. We may update this privacy notice periodically so please check it regularly

Who we are 

The King’s Trust International is a charity that works in partnership with organisations to help young people from around the world aged 13 to 35 to get into jobs, education and training.

Information you share with us on our Digital programmes

  1. a) WhatsApp name & Phone number

By using our Digital programme on WhatsApp, you agree to share any information about you listed on your WhatsApp profile, including the name you have used, and your phone number. If you do not want our Digital Programme to see your name, please change the name you use on your WhatsApp account by going to Settings and tapping on your name/picture, then Edit profile.

By adding our Digital programme as a contact, you cannot prevent us from seeing your phone number (just like with a friend). If you do not want us to see your phone number, please do not use our Digital programme.

  1. b) Usage information

When you interact with our Digital programme by sending us messages, those messages get stored on a secure platform. We keep a record of the messages sent to help us understand how people are interacting with our Digital programme. This helps us make improvements to the service and reach as many people as possible with helpful information and support.

Rest assured that the combination of your usage information, and your name and telephone number will never be shared outside of the platform.

  1. c) Other information you give us.

From time to time, you might choose to share information about yourself such as your age, gender, personal experiences or feedback on the service. You are under no obligation to provide us with this information, but if you choose to, do be aware that this will be part of the information we store about you.

The combination of your name, phone number, usage information and other information you give us will never be shared outside of the platform we use to manage our Digital programme. We may use information such as age or gender, or your responses to quizzes, in an aggregated way, for example, in order to determine what percentage of our users are female or male.

In some limited circumstances, the personal information that The King’s Trust International collects may include information that is considered sensitive data or special category data. This is information regarding racial or ethnic origins, political opinions, religious beliefs, health, and information concerning criminal offences. Where this information is collected, we will tell you, so you know why it is needed.

If you are under 13, you will need parental or guardian consent before sending personal or sensitive information to us.

Legal Basis for your processing personal data  

We rely on the following legal basis for processing your data:

  • Consent, and
  • Legitimate Interests – In carrying out our activities, we collect and process personal data for our legitimate interests (i.e. we use the information to evaluate the services we provide, to develop or tailor new programmes or tailor existing ones.    When we process your personal information for our legitimate interests, we make sure to consider and balance any potential impact on you and your rights under data protection laws. We will always ensure that your personal data will not be used where our interests are overridden by the impact on you.

What we do with your information

We will use this information to understand:

➔ where Digital programme users come from (location) so we can ensure we are reaching the people we want to.

➔ what the gender of our users are, so we can ensure we are reaching as many females as males.

➔ how many messages Digital programme users receive on average, so we can ensure our messages are engaging and the service is being used as we hope.

➔ what feedback users have shared about the service.

This information may be included in internal or external reports or presentations but will never be associated with your personally identifiable information (name and phone number).
