Tokunbo Akerele

Tokunbo has seen to the successful and seamless establishment of international partnerships in Nigeria across diverse sectors - Oil and Gas, Telecommunications, Manufacturing and Consulting.

He was a director at Veritas Geophysical (2001- 2007), a leading seismic company involved in acquisition and processing of seismic data. At Veritas, Tokunbo managed government relations on behalf of the company.

Tokunbo served as a shareholder and Non-executive director of Altech West Africa (2004 – 2015), the leading manufacturer of starter packs for the telecommunications operators. Tokunbo was involved in establishing Altech West Africa in Nigeria and obtaining all necessary licenses and approvals from the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC). Tokunbo is a member of the Samsung Corporate Citizenship Advisory Group and acted as an Independent Advisor to Samsung.

Tokunbo was Chairman of Business Connexion Nigeria BCX (2011-2016), a wholly owned subsidiary of BCX SA, a leading IT Outsourcing Company and the largest provider of data services in Africa. BCX SA is listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) with a market capitalization of over $200M.

Tokunbo also served as a Board Member on the Board Audit Committee of Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc. (2011-2017) which is listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

Tokunbo is Chairman of Style House Files Limited, a fashion development agency that primarily focuses on the advancement of the Nigerian and African fashion Industry and wholly owns the Lagos Fashion Week platform. He’s also Chairman of Cellfind Nigeria, a leading mobile technology solutions company that provides tailored Mobile Solutions, Location- based services, Aggregation solutions, Mobile Applications and Value Added Services to the mobile networks.

Tokunbo currently runs TOA Advisory Services, an African Market Entry and Business Development Company working extensively to position international companies to successfully navigate Africa’s foremost emerging markets.
Tokunbo is also a trustee of Inspire Foundation, a non –profit organization set up to promote leadership by fostering knowledge sharing, mentorship and networking between current exemplary leaders and next generation leaders. This platform provides inspiration and nurturing to members- young business leaders.

Tokunbo holds a Master’s in Business Administration, MBA in Oil and Gas Management from the University Dundee, Scotland.

Tokunbo is married to Omoyemi and they have three daughters.
