Joanna Schmidt Riley

Joanna Schmidt Riley is an experienced non-profit advisor and former finance professional with a strong track record in strategic development, business planning, and philanthropic initiatives. She currently serves on the Development Board of JW3, advising senior leadership on fundraising strategy and supporting the organisation’s cultural and community programmes.

She began her career at Accenture in New York in 1997. She then spent over a decade at Goldman Sachs in London and New York, holding Executive Director roles in the Securities Division, focused on business management, strategy and marketing, before moving to Hong Kong in 2013.

After returning to London in 2015, Joanna held advisory board roles with Room to Read and Facing History and Ourselves, where she also served as Interim Executive Director.  In 2019 she became a founding member of Impact London Collective, where she helped launch the organisation and performed due diligence on charities that support women and girls across London.

Joanna holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Princeton University, where she also rowed for four years. She is actively involved in community and philanthropic initiatives, supporting organisations focused on education, health research, digital humanities, clean air, and widening access to sport.

She lives in London with her husband and three teenage sons.
