Introducing our Pakistan Development Group
We are excited to introduce the Pakistan Development Group (PDG), a key advisory body to The King’s Trust International. The PDG will work towards enhancing the organisation’s impact in Pakistan by supporting our mission to help young people learn, earn, and thrive.
The key objectives of the PDG include advising on growth opportunities for our programmes in Pakistan, supporting fundraising efforts to sustain and expand our initiatives and increasing visibility and awareness of The King’s Trust International’s work.
The PDG members will play an important ambassadorial role, leveraging their networks to forge valuable partnerships and strengthen stakeholder relationships. They will also guide fundraising strategies and explore opportunities for enhancing the organisation’s presence in Pakistan.
While the PDG operates in an advisory capacity, their insights and connections will be crucial to achieving our goals in the region.
Our Work in Pakistan
The Trust has been operating in Pakistan since 2016, empowering young people to learn, earn and thrive. 64% of the population are below the age of 29, and 30% between 15 and 29 years.
According to UNICEF, Pakistan has the world’s second-highest number of out-of-school children with an estimated 22.8 million children aged 5-16 not attending school, representing 44% of the total population in this age group. So far, our programmes have empowered 8,988 young people with education, skills training and employability. We currently run two programmes in Pakistan, these are Enterprise Challenge (in partnership with Seed Ventures) and Achieve (in partnership with Pakistan Alliance for Girls Education).
Our focus will remain on both sustaining our existing work and raising funds to expand delivery of our programmes in Pakistan in the coming years. We are seeking to build a network of partners to support our work over multiple years to strengthen the sustainability and security of the support we offer young people and ultimately allow us to invest in the next generation.
